ABOUT
My name is David William Edwards. I am 34 years old and live in Walsall in the West Midlands. I am looking for permanent work as a web developer in Birmingham.
I currently work for Birmingham Chamber of Commerce developing front-end applications using JavaScript and an off-the-shelf software solution. In my last job, I developed database-driven intranet applications for CSC and JP Morgan Flemming using HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS and MivaScript(tag-based server-side language like Cold Fusion). I have always hand-coded and been responsible for both front and back-end programming. When I was made redundant from CSC, the dire state of the IT job market made finding my next position extremely difficult but I didn't sit on my laurels. Learning all about commercial web development and teaching myself ASP, VBScript, SQL and Access, I produced 3 websites.
My next job would ideally be as a web developer in a dedicated web project team where I could use my accumulated skills and experience to make a unique contribution to a finished product. Learning something new along the way would be a bonus.
My diverse background includes a degree in Physics with French, a job as a hotel night porter and 2 years running ATM projects for Securicor. I particularly enjoy exercise, quizzes, music, film and art.
